ANTIETAM’S HILL lyrics:
They sent a man to do the devil’s work
But the job is never done
I’ve got a mark for ever soul I’ve stolen with my gun
From the beginning man has had his hand on the trigger of a gun
It’s either be a slave or it’s in my grave and I’m not the only one
And the cannons roar what an awful sound
Another flag goes up another man falls down
I’m southern raise I believe all men are free
So I’ll fight this fight till death comes for me
I’ve fought so long in Lincoln’s war for the peace God keep’s from me
I’ve wished so long to get back home to see my family
17 more miles to go till we reach that battlefield
Where men will die and loose there lives upon Antietam’s Hill
And the cannons roar what an awful sound
Another flag goes up another man falls down
I’m southern raised, I believe all men are free
So I’ll fight this fight till death comes for me
And the cannons roar what an awful sound
Another flag goes up another man falls down
I’m southern raised, I believe all men are free
So I’ll fight this fight till death comes for me

Nu-Blu, which includes the talents of Daniel Routh, Carolyn Routh, Levi Austin, and Austin Koerner, certainly chose an outstanding guest list for their album with the talents of Rob Ickes, Christy Reid, and Greg Luck. “A sweet set of independent bluegrass, with strong echoes of Alison Krauss & Union Station, both in singer Carolyn Routh’s vocal style and in the switching off between male and female leads.” SLIPCUE
“Carolyn rises gracefully into her high, keening register at points, as crystalline and gently piercing as Ms. Krauss herself, with the effect lent extra poignancy by the subdued, rustic guitar-mandolin-dobro backdrop fashioned by Messrs. Routh, Gales and Ickes.” The Bluegrass Special
“I see no reason why this disc can’t figure for several IBMA Awards in 2012. Mighty fine, mighty fine!”
Music News Nashville
“This album holds many surprises with superb musicianship, and fine sounding vocals making this CD very easy listening. This album will surely become a must have in any serious contemporary Bluegrass collection. Congratulations to Nu-Blu.”

“With so many new bands appearing on the scene, it’s nice to find one with a passionate regard for messages in songs and a strong, driving bluegrass instrumental backdrop to accompany them.”
California Bluegrass Association

Rural Rhythm Records is proud to announce Rodney Dillard will be inducted into the Missouri Music Association’s new Hall of Fame when the organization honors its three premier inductees in the bluegrass genre: The Dillards, John Hartford and Charlie Wolfe. This new Hall of Fame will recognize Missouri talent from all genres of music and will collaborate with other music organizations within the state of Missouri, and elsewhere, to provide a central database of Missouri talent. Initially, the Hall of Fame will include talent that has already been recognized by other Halls of Fame based on their individual music genre. All three of these new inductees are currently members of the International Bluegrass Hall of Fame.
The Dillards, Rodney Dillard (guitar) and Douglas Dillard (banjo), grew up playing music with their family and friends including a teenaged John Hartford, in Missouri. They performed on a St. Louis radio station as The Dillard Brothers in 1958, recording for a local label. The Dillards played their first show at Washington University in St. Louis and hit the road for Los Angeles in 1962. A DesiLu Studios rep saw an ad in Variety magazine about Elektra signing The Dillards, and within days they were called in to audition for the role of The Darlins on The Andy Griffith Show. Their original songs have become bluegrass standards like “The Old Home Place,” “Dooley,” “Doug’s Tune,” “Banjo in the Holler” and “There is a Time.” The Dillards incorporated stand-up comedy into their stage show, and their talents as entertainers brought bluegrass to new audiences in urban clubs from L.A. to New York City, on college campuses, in movie scores, at folk festivals and on tour with mainstream rock bands and comedians. The band’s unique flair for songwriting and arrangement affected a broad range of important future musicians in the bluegrass and pop music world alike, and they are credited with helping set the stage for the “country rock” movement and the burgeoning progressive sounds of bluegrass. The Dillards were inducted into the International Bluegrass Hall of Fame in 2009.
Rodney Dillard now tours with “The Dillard Band” and the group is celebrating their Rural Rhythm album, I WISH LIFE WAS LIKE MAYBERRY. The band is gearing up for their August 16th album, DON’T WAIT FOR THE HEARSE TO TAKE YOU TO CHURCH, featuring Beverly Dillard. The Voice for the Lonesome River Band in solo concerts following appearance on Late Night with David Letterman with the Lonesome River Band and Steve Martin
In addition to his performances as the lead singer and guitarist with the Lonesome River Band, Brandon Rickman will be performing solo shows at singer/songwriter events in Atlanta, GA, Kingsport, TN and Black Mountain, NC. His upcoming 3-day Fall Tour kicks off at the Red Light Cafe in Atlanta and wraps up near Asheville, North Carolina. On November 11th, Brandon will be performing with the Lonesome River Band and Steve Martin on the TV show Late Night with David Letterman.
Brandon Rickman hails from the farming community of Purdy, Missouri. A product of a musical family, Rickman grew up playing guitar though he picked up the upright bass just hours before playing his first show as a member of the esteemed bluegrass gospel group, New Tradition. Prior to joining the Lonesome River Band, he spent 2001 appearing with award-winning bluegrass singer and songwriter Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time. These great musical experiences have provided Rickman with a wide range of material. The songs he will perform in his solo shows will draw heavily on his original material ranging from lighthearted songs like “I Bought Her a Dog” to powerful gospel and deep and soulful cover tunes like “Rain and Snow”.
Rickman’s shows include a stop at the Red Light Café in Atlanta, Georgia on November 17th, The Bus Pit in Kingsport, Tennessee on November 18th, and The White Horse Black Mountain on November 19th. Other dates are planned for December 2011 and solo performances are confirmed for 2012 including the Historic Jonesborough (TN) Bluegrass Series. Additional details are available at www.brandonrickman.com

Two singles, “Always Have Always Will” and “I Bought Her a Dog” appeared on the Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine Top 30 Song chart; and the track, “Wearin Her Knees Out Over Me” won the Strictly Country Magazine’s Song of the Year in 2010.
“I look forward taking my solo show to many listening rooms and venues around the country. It will be different from the shows I currently do with the Lonesome River Band as for the most part it will just be me and a guitar.” said Rickman. “I’m excited about the upcoming solo tour and visiting East Tennessee and the Asheville area. I’m also looking forward to the work I’ll be doing with the Lonesome River Band in 2012. 2012 is going to be a great year!”

That being said, there still needs to be new songs written and recorded that hopefully will appeal to future generations as well. I want to be one of the writers that helps keeps the Nativity Story alive…. in people’s minds…and hearts,” explained Rick Lang.
This beautiful tune will certainly appeal to any radio program that plays Christmas music during this holiday season. Radio programmers can download the song free at Airplay Direct.com
